I decided it was time for another Big Cat painting. This time I used a more textured, rough brush look to make the tiger appear more fierce. I kind of like the look. I think sometimes my paintings end up looking too photographic and it sort of takes away from the painted feel.

Nice job, and don't be discouraged by the fact that your paintings can look photographic. I myself love the photo real style and having the ability to replicate that is an accomplishment within itself. It takes a ton of time and practice to be able to see finite details that many artists strive to achieve, plus that practice also lends itself to new original concepts and designs because a trained eye will place details in areas that without the training wouldn't be there.
