410 CHILI PEPPERS!
I present the ever elusive South American Pepper Parrot. A very rare species of spicy Macaw that has eluded wildlife photographers for centuries! Okay, seriously, this fruity bird is a bird-brained photo manipulation made with 410 chili peppers! He is all chili peppers except his eye, which is made from a blueberry and orange slice. Even his face is a pepper, a faded bell pepper to be exact, and his feet are dried peppers. I’ve been playing with making owls from fruit as you might already know, and since chili peppers are one of the unsung heroes of the fruit world I figured they deserved their 15 minutes of fame, or at the very least 15 favorites
When I was going through my fruit photos, in the throws of conceptualizing another fruit hoot, I came upon chili peppers and figured they’d make a hot hoot
Of course, as I began brainstorming the hoot another idea invaded my already cluttered mind; chili peppers have such incredible color and ’pop’ it seemed ideal to use them in the construction of one of the world’s most colorful birds, the Macaw. Of course, hailing from South America made it even more perfect since it’s chili pepper paradise. So, after a few hours of pulling out what’s left of my hair manipulating over 400 chili peppers I was finally able to visually document the elusive Pepper Parrot.
