An adult Toaster-Bot from the "Adventures of Captain Cosmo." The adults of this alien species subsits on penut butter & jelly on toast. They gather the jelly from the secretions of the Jelly Blob aliens in the Confection Constellation.

Love the critter/plants in the background lookin gon. The whole piece has a great solid feel to it. Great back story too!

Thank you! I like creating stories behind all my characters. It really helps bring out the details of their design. I think in most cases a character biography is more intriguing than the actual illustration. The jelly critters worked out well. I originally had jelly lava flowing from a volcano but the critters were more interesting.

Yeah, I know what ya mean. It's something I must do with my creatures but have failed to do so, so far.....

It's weird how some illustrations turn out....like they were menat to be the way they are.

Stories are a good thing. They take a character from being cool to being iconic.

It's funny. When I set out to make an illustration I just go with the flow if inspiration and while I may have had a notion of what I wanted when I began it doesn't always end up that way :)
